Breathecure aims to inspire consciousness with the breath and to educate others of the multiple benefits of quality breathing, meditation and yoga. The word "cure" is from the Latin word cura, whose basic meaning is "care, concern, attention, carefulness." Breathing with attention, or care, is the mission of Breathecure. Conscious breathing has been shown to reduce side effects of various treatments often associated with disease and to aid in the prevention of dis-ease.

Breathecure is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of wellbeing for families, caregivers, cancer patients, survivors, and patients of other illnesses. Not only people who are healing from disease benefit from BTC, but all people who haare interested in their overall wellness of body and mind.. The FUNdamental Breathing Program:
Though Breathecure will reach out to many sectors of wellness using various forms of media, including a documentary, Breathecure's first mission is to establish its FUNdamental Breathing Program in elementary schools. Teaching children the tools of quality breathing at a very young age can make a meaningful difference by helping them with numerous issues such as focus and attention, managing stress, and overcoming conditions like asthma. We will later introduce the program to middle schools, high schools, and adults, including business and corporations. We see a FUNdamental Breathing chart next to the Food Pyramid chart as a way to promote nutrition and breath. They both feed the body and keep it healthy. Together, Alejandro Chaoul Ph D and Psychology graduate student, Jenny Buergermeister, have set up a research project to establish a baseline in children's moods and behaviors prior-to and after the introduction of the Breathecure's FUNdamental Breathing Program.

After the introduction of our program, we will then administer different questionnaires designed for teachers, parents, and children. The children will be given a questionnaire. Their responses will be to choose from a row of figures in poses, each one conveying a different mood. We call the figures moodras (like the Sanskrit word for gesture, mudra, which symbolizes a particular quality or action). This will determine the changes of feelings/emotions after a session of FUNdamental Breathing.
Mind-Breath-Body is not something that we invented. It is studied, practiced and taught in many eastern traditions, but is certainly not limitied to those traditions--everybody breathes. It is an appropriate fit for our educational mission to teach children the importance of a quality breath by providing visuals and leading them through experiential exercises. Spiritus, in Latin, means breath of life or inspiration. Breath is Spirit and is the essence of our life. There are three main program exercises we will introduce:1. Sitting - lotus, savasana - we can explain the importance of relaxed mind and guided imagery to the kiddos using metaphor and story.2. Standing - tree pose, airplane warrior, animal poses3. Fun poses - crow and partner demonstrations, group participation4. Breathing exercises, singing, and quiet meditation We hope you can join us and support raising awareness about the importance of a quality breath and relaxation. Together we can learn, share, and grow a healthy life!
